01Acceptance of These Terms
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of worldngoday.org, worldngoday.com (which belongs to worldngoday.org and directs here) and the MyWND community platform at mywnd.worldngoday.org ("MyWND"), together the "Services." By using the Services, joining MyWND, or making a donation, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
02About World NGO Day and the Global Council
World NGO Day (27 February) is a global awareness day, initiated by its founder Marcis Liors Skadmanis. It belongs to civil society. In some countries the day is recognized in national law, and it is listed by the EU as an international day.
The Services are operated and overseen by the World NGO Day Global Council (the "Global Council," "we," "us"), a registered nonprofit (Exponential Organization) established to help safeguard the legacy, global recognition and continued development of World NGO Day. The Global Council safeguards the legacy of World NGO Day and advises on its global impact and growth, with a particular focus on cities worldwide. Its Executive Advisors serve in honorary, voluntary roles.
03Eligibility
The Services are open to everyone — from aspiring nonprofit founders to established organizations, businesses, volunteers, students and individual supporters. We do not carry age-restricted content. If you are under the age of 16, please have a parent or guardian's involvement before creating a MyWND account or making a donation.
04MyWND — Subscribers, Not Members
Anyone can create a MyWND account to join the World NGO Day community and get access to available resources, guides, insights and opportunities supporting NGOs and civil society. Everyone is welcome.
MyWND does not have a "membership." Creating an account makes you a subscriber with access to MyWND — it does not create any membership, governance right, voting right, or ownership interest in World NGO Day or the Global Council. Subscribers may not describe or represent themselves as a "member" of World NGO Day or the World NGO Day Global Council.
By joining MyWND, you become part of the World NGO Day community and can access whatever resources and information are made available to you — including, where applicable, the Logo & Marketing Resources, the free Nonprofit City Guide, the World NGO Day Global Review, and general community features. What is available, and to whom, may change over time and is not guaranteed.
MyWND is provided in connection with World NGO Day and is not to be used for illegal activity, spam, scraping, impersonation, harassment, misleading fundraising, or misrepresenting your affiliation with World NGO Day or the Global Council. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms.
If you opt in to "Stay Connected," you agree to receive occasional World NGO Day updates, resources, opportunities, newsletters, announcements and notifications from MyWND. You can opt out at any time.
We do not take responsibility for subscribers — including their conduct, statements, or any information they publish, post or submit through forms on MyWND. Views expressed by a subscriber are their own and do not represent World NGO Day, its founder, or the Global Council.
We have the right to publish partnership, sponsor and patron logos, opportunities, discounts and similar content on MyWND and on worldngoday.org.
05Executive Advisors
Each year, distinguished executives and thought leaders serve voluntarily as high-level Executive Advisors to the Global Council, with a particular focus on cities worldwide. Executive Advisors sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) before joining and are, on that basis, granted access to a dedicated section of MyWND providing resources, announcements, Council information, and a direct way to connect with the Council and other Advisors. Serving as an Executive Advisor is an honorary, voluntary role and does not create an employment, agency or partnership relationship with the Global Council.
06Content, Accuracy and No Warranty
Information on worldngoday.org, worldngoday.com and MyWND — including blog and news content — is provided for general informational and awareness purposes only.
We do not claim or warrant that all information on our Services is 100% accurate, complete, current or error-free.
Some blog articles and other content may be sourced, quoted, republished or adapted from open-source or third-party publications to raise awareness of World NGO Day, civil society and the nonprofit sector, with attribution where known and reasonably practicable. Rights to that original content remain with its respective owners. If you believe content on our Services should be corrected, credited differently, or removed, please contact us via the official LinkedIn page below.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all liability for any loss or damage arising from reliance on information provided through the Services. You should independently verify any information before relying or acting on it.
07Official Logo, Name and Symbol — Terms of Use
The World NGO Day logo and name may be used by anyone celebrating World NGO Day, subject to the following terms:
- Use only "World NGO Day" or "World Non-Governmental Organization Day." Avoid variations.
- The logo is free for everyone to use when celebrating NGOs, nonprofits, CSOs, charities and foundations.
- Official websites are worldngoday.org and worldngoday.com.
- Official hashtags: #WorldNGODay, #NGODay, #DíaMundialDeLasONG, #JournéeMondialeDesONG.
- Do not alter the logo. It symbolizes unity and diversity, inspired by a beehive.
- Do not change the logo's colors. They represent the four seasons.
- Do not use the logo or name for illegal, questionable or misleading fundraising.
- Do not use the name "World NGO Day Global Council." It is legally protected.
These rules apply wherever the World NGO Day name, logo or symbol is used — on your own website, social media, printed materials, or elsewhere — whether or not you have a MyWND account.
08Intellectual Property
World NGO Day is an international awareness day, and the name "World NGO Day" (and "World Non-Governmental Organization Day") belongs to civil society. As set out in the Brand Usage Terms above, the name and logo are free for anyone to use when celebrating NGOs, nonprofits, CSOs, charities and foundations, provided the Brand Usage Terms are followed — including keeping the logo and its colors unaltered, and never using the name or logo for illegal, questionable or misleading fundraising.
The one exception is the name "World NGO Day Global Council," which is legally protected and may not be used to describe your own organization, initiative or activity.
Separately, the specific content, design, text, graphics and software of worldngoday.org, worldngoday.com and MyWND — as distinct from the World NGO Day name and logo themselves — are the property of the World NGO Day Global Council or its licensors, except where otherwise credited (for example, third-party or open-source content we quote or republish to raise awareness). You may not copy, reproduce or repurpose that site content beyond normal use of the Services without permission.
09Donations
You may support World NGO Day with a one-time or monthly gift, or a legacy gift, as described on our Donate page. Payments are collected and processed by Stripe, PayPal and other official payment processors identified at checkout; we do not receive or store your full payment card or bank details.
- Your gift supports World NGO Day's mission — including preserving its history and legacy, growing its global reach, the free Nonprofit City Guides, and new initiatives recognizing the people and organizations strengthening civil society.
- Whether a donation is tax-deductible depends on your location, the receiving legal entity, and applicable law. We do not guarantee tax-deductibility; please consult your own tax adviser.
- Monthly gifts can be cancelled at any time through the payment processor or by contacting us.
- Refunds, where given, are at the Global Council's discretion; processing fees charged by the payment processor may not be refundable. To request a refund or discuss a donation, contact us via the official LinkedIn page below.
- Any donor recognition (for example, a "Patron" designation) is honorary. It is not a financial security, membership, or ownership interest of any kind.
10Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Services to: violate any law; infringe anyone's intellectual property or other rights; impersonate World NGO Day, the Global Council, its founder, or any subscriber or Advisor; misuse the World NGO Day name or logo, including for illegal, questionable or misleading fundraising; send spam or unsolicited communications through MyWND; scrape or harvest data from the Services; or interfere with the security or normal operation of the Services.
11Official Contact and Anti-Scam Notice
To help prevent spam and scams, please direct all official inquiries to the Global Council via the official World NGO Day LinkedIn page. We never request payments or personal financial information through any other channel — including unsolicited email, direct message on other platforms, or phone calls claiming to represent World NGO Day or the Global Council.
Before responding to a proposal, contacting us about a partnership, or making a payment in connection with World NGO Day, please verify the request through our official LinkedIn page. If something feels off, don't send money or personal financial information — verify with us first.
12Third-Party Links and Content
The Services may link to, embed, quote or republish third-party content, including from open-source sites, for awareness purposes. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party websites, their content, or their policies. Use of third-party sites is at your own risk and subject to their own terms.
13Not Professional Advice
Nothing on the Services constitutes legal, financial, tax or other professional advice. Please seek independent professional advice before making decisions based on content from our Services.
14Disclaimer of Warranties
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
15Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, World NGO Day, its founder, and the World NGO Day Global Council will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Services, reliance on their content, or conduct of any subscriber, Advisor, partner, sponsor or patron — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
16Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless World NGO Day, its founder, and the World NGO Day Global Council from any claims, damages, losses or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Services, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
17Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the World NGO Day Global Council, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Services will be resolved in accordance with those laws.
18Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Services or for legal, operational or regulatory reasons. We will update the "last updated" date above, and, where a change is material, we will provide a more prominent notice on our website or through MyWND. Continued use of the Services after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
19General
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, make up the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Services.
